Right now I'm really wishing I had an iTunes card because there are a few songs I'm seriously geeking out over. Prepare your ears for awesome. (And yes, all of these songs are country music. Please please please don't let that stop you from listening to them.)
If I Die Young, by The Band Perry - Truly one of the most beautiful songs. It's one of those songs that makes me want to drive around a little longer if it comes on the radio when I'm pulling into the driveway.
Stuck Like Glue, by Sugarland - As my friend said, this song is CRAZY BANANAS AWESOME. The video's kind of weird though, just fyi.
Pray For You, by Jaron and the Long Road to Love - This is a hilarious song. It starts really sweet and nice and then gets terrible and hilarious.
Boys of Fall, by Kenny Chesney - Skip ahead to 2:11 (the song doesn't start until then). This is one of those really great songs that encapsulates one specific moment, one feeling. Plus, it reminds me of Friday Night Lights.
Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer, by Billy Currington - I'm fine with listening to this song fifty times in a row. And the video is great, so you have to watch it.
Trailerhood, by Toby Keith - OMG OMG OMG This song and the video for it are both hilarious (as Toby Keith's songs and videos often are). I looove it.
Oh my gosh, I've had "If I Die Young" stuck in my head for like a week now XD I love that song!

Have you been sitting on my bed with me and the kids watching the top twenty cmt countdown or something? We love all those videos. I love The Boys of Fall because my husband played high school and college ball and I can just picture him. If I'd known him then I'd have dated a football player. I get butterflies thinking about it. Really stupid. I love If I Die Young, its' a beautiful song. Pray For You is hillarious as are the others, though I don't like Jennifer Nettles hair that short from Sugarland. We all agree that Trailerhood reminds us of My Name Is Earl and "Awesome" in the Stuck Like Glue video from Chuck is still pretty Awesome! It's not a bad thing to like country music. What part of the world do you live in Cade??? Have you heard of Taylor Swift?

ReplyDeleteBuried in Books - Haha! I actually haven't watched CMT in months but these songs have been playing on the radio recently and I've fallen in love with them. I love that the woman who plays Joy in My Name Is Earl is in the Pray for You video... she's hilarious. I do like Taylor Swift quite a lot (especially her first album and a few from her second album), but I feel like the songs of hers they play on the radio are definitely not the best ones she has out.
